WOT Question

Having some trouble pinpointing. How do you tell the difference between a hit from the WOT rim and the center strip. I'd appreciate any tips on its use. Thanks

The center stip will be hotter from my experience with even the stock coil, so I will lift up the coil a little and pinpoint the target so the edges will not pick it up.
With the WOT I can also tip the coil up so the tip is only on the ground and pinpoint too.

Rick,
Even with the stock coil I used to have lot of trouble with rusty iron. When operating with the iron mask at -14, rusty iron would null over the center strip but indicate a diggable targer a few inches away. But I could find the target in the hole using the X1 probe. I would just scratch my head and wonder what was going on.
After figuring this behavior out, I started quickly switching to pin point mode. This allows me to determine that the target was really a few inches away from where I thought it was. This seems to work well, but I think your suggestion may be an easier technique to use.

Use PP and u will find that the loudest point is right under the little guy even on deepones hope that helps

Dave,
Thanks. My problem is mostly due to geting three hits from the same target, (left rim, center strip, right rim). Does PP provide a cone-shaped pattern instead of the double-D?
