WOT depth display Question

I just got a WOT to use, and I plan on testing it out on a new site after Christmas. I am sure this has been discussed before, but, to save looking through all the archives, can someone please tell me how the depth display relates to the depth of the coil's reach? i.e. as I understand it, the scale with the stock large coil is based on 1 foot. Is it still the same with the WOT, or is the bottom of the scale at a greater depth? Thanks.

Any other input would be greatly appreciated. I plan on using this coil at a site that should have some deep finds. I also plan on using it on at a freshwater beach.

Thanks,

Dennis

to be honest with you the stock coil is the same as the wot i dont use that as a reference wheter to dig or not i use the gain at 8, if i hit pinpoint and hear afluttering kind of sound then i know its deep that scale is not that accurate in my book,if you set your gain at5 and hear a faint signal then its deep dont trust the scale, alot of fields have been plowed over for hundreds of years and the stuff never gets buried it may register shallow but i still dig , iguess it
depends on your situation. good luck, been using the wot for years

to know if the relative position/depth is the same. What is the deepest coin you guys have found with a wot coil?
