WOT Coil?

CC,

I use the WOT coil with the GT (on the beach) and find it:

1. As stable as the 10" Tornado.
2. Slightly heavier than than the 10".
3. About 10% to 15% deeper than the 10"....but no more than that.
4. Great for covering the vast areas of sand on the beach.
5. Very well constructed.
6. A bit trickier to pinpoint with.
7. As sensitive on the smaller bits (jewellery).

Hope this helps,
Tony.

I agree with all of the above. I have been hunting the beach for about a year with my WOT on a Sov Elite, and I especially like using it on big beaches, where there is lots of sand to cover and only a few people (like right now in Santa Cruz beach, CA, for example). I don't use it in the surf, and I don't dig deep targets.
I like the 10" tornado on smaller beaches with lots of people, for the wet and dry sand. It also balances better on a straight shaft with the control unit mounted on the back.
Hope that helps, good luck.
