WOT 15" or SEF 12x15 Coil for ETRAC

Hello Everyone, In the market for a large coil (15") for my etrac. I want a big coil that is sensitive to deeper silver dimes that has the most stable TID.

Everyone will recommend what they have.
I prefer the WOT 15" old style for weight and performance but they're all heavy.
 
I hardly use my sef its just to much weight for the little gain in depth. With the rite Settings on the E it can hit some major deepies. I find my sef Isn't as good on the deep dimes as the stock coil. The sef is great on the beach for depth but still not as stable.
This is my opion only from using both coils for years now.
 
Well.......your getting warmer when you say "the best overall" coil .... However, ....... the sizes in the two mentioned 15 and 12X15 (including the factory coil) aren't accurate because the real answer is the 13 inch Ultimate coil is the best overall coil on the E-Trac...JMO ( only telling the truth)
 
Why do you think the 13 inch Ultimate coil is the best overall ? Have you tried the 15" WOT and the SEF 15x12" coils? I have thought about trying the Ultimate coil. I have used the 2 others mentioned. Thanks
 
Yes I own the 12X15 coil, which has its use in situations, but is a real heavy coil to swing. Now to answer why I think the 13 inch Ultimate is the best overall coil, is it is about the same weight as the stock coil (balanced -not heavy) and it just hits loader, deeper, pinpoints right on, and separates very very well. If I could only have one coil it would be the Ultimate coil.
 
If I had to settle for one coil other than the stock it would be the NEL Hunter . 8.5" x 12.5"
It seems to hit as well as the stock with perhaps a little bit better separation and depth but very little difference. Much the same result as the Ultimate in my dirt but I prefer the elliptical shape to the round Ultimate. I don't feel I gain much depth here even with the WOT but use it when the coverage is desirable.
 
I just bought a new Coil for my Etrac as well. Like you I was not really looking for more depth but I was looking for deeper ID. I know from experience the WOT is too big and Heavy for me. I have used the SEF 10X12 and was pretty happy with it but I had to try a Tornado. Did I mess up? The Tornado seems to have a following from some Etrac users.
 
ditto ... Ultimate is plenty deep and weighs about the same as the stock coil, and about half the weight of those two you listed
 
Tornado will suck them coins right out of the ground. No pun intended.
