A while back i posted about using gloves...
Today i was at the park with the dog I twisted my wrist
so its hard :detecting: for a few days.
Anyway a guy was swinging and digging and all of a
sudden he yelled .. nasty cut on his hand from glass..
He had a 1st aid kit so he got it cleaned and bandaged .. but it all could
have been avoided with a cheap pair of gloves ..

this is NOT a lecture just hoping none of us get cut
or worse...

PS ANd the 1st aid kit aint a bad idea even close to home

:usaflag:When I first started detecting I did'nt use them, and my fingertips became raw from clawing the dirt. I never go anywhere without them now. If I did'nt use gloves I would have gotten poison ivy much worse than I did the other weekend. Highly recommended.

I use something other than my hands to dig with. Too much crap in the ground - razor blades, needles, glass, shards of metal, etc.

I have yet to use gloves but I think I better rethink that. I've had several small cuts from glass and shredded cans and so far I've been lucky...I've found a couple of fish hooks, but I found them before they found me. do you guys use just regular garden gloves, or what?

:usaflag:I get my gloves from our local TrueValue hardware store. They are made of a breathable stretchy spandexy-type material that have a light rubber coating on the palms and fingers. Very snug fitting..like surgical gloves. Not waterproof but they keep the dirt off of your hands when you are scooping loose soil out.

I never get tired of posting that link...lol.
