Worst day so far

Almost skunked today but finally found 1 memorial penny. Very interesting day. I was searching an old school yard in Enterprise, AL and with low sensitivity I detected several hits indicating a penny or dime. Digging found no results and after filling in everything and cleaning up there were no further signals. This happened several times today. My md is a Garrett 250. What did I do wrong ??yes, I am a novice of 1 month

Hi Jinks, (sorry about the pun, couldn't resist it)
I think you'll find that everyone has been there including ourselves. Eileen and myself after 5 months sometimes still get caught from time to time.
It's just a matter of practice, practice, and more practice and just giving yourself time to really get to know your own machine.
As I'm not very technical that's the best advice I can give, we're still learning our machines yet and can't wait for the summer to come round as we think we'll do much better having 8-9 months experience behind us.

Try going to a playground with wood chips. Very easy MDing. It is a good place to practice and there are rings there. I always like the extra incentive (RINGS). Schools can be hard to MD with all the trash. A sand beach is even better to MD.
