Yesterday, me and Luke worked a little on our scoop project. We did ths most boring part, digging holes! We worked on five sheets of thick metal sheets to make things go faster.
Here is Luke digging one of the many oles needed. THe wooden workbench on witch the drill stand is my polishing machine that use a washing machine motor, a strap and cotton wheels monted on a bearing shaft.

Here is beated up scoop that served as inspiration for the new design. I really love my long wooden shaft because it stays upring, is light yet strong enauph to dig in thick clay. It has proven itself over the many years I,ve been using it. I sincerely prefer the 90 degree angle between the shat and the bottom of the scoop. It's mutch easyer to pull up without loosing the items sitted at the end of the scoop. Mutch less arm fatigue too. You can use your knee to help pull it up when your arm are getting tired. The difference will be that the sheet is a bit heavyer and insted of a round shape, there will be a flat bottom with rounded corners. we'll keep you posted on our progress.
