Worked like a dog and got skunked

in the woods

Man o' man did I work at the woods and walls hard today. Got two brass casings', two slugs, a shot gud shell and a bunch of bug bites. But, g'dam did I enjoy it. Next time out otta' been good. For every day with not much to show, the next time is usually pretty good.
If it's sweet and it repeats, get down on the ground and dig like a badger.

Thats what it's all about, being able to get out and do some detecting. The uknown finds below are just the greatly appreciated bonus.

Yeah ... it happens every now and then - you go to a great looking site, hunt it low and slow and get nothing !
I always keep an eye out for old holes that were dug by someone that got to the site before I did.

I always say this hobby is just like fishing. never know what you have when you get a bite, can always look for a new spot, but a bad day at it is always better than a day at work. i got skunked yesterday too but had fun. makes me happy to be divorced. more time to do what i love. hehehe.

We've all gotten skunked more times than we'd like. But the rewards more than make up for it.

I love that saying... I was an XT70 user for a long time and used to Quote Digger all of the time... He would say in all o fhe discussion, pinpoint it and dig... becuase "You never know unless you dig it!"

Thx :)

Hell yes! Just being out in the woods puts a smile on my face. Finding stuff only makes it better...

Deep Woods Off makes it better too. :bouncy:
