Well, first great find of the day was this sliver of a U.S. beltplate. I knew what it was right away but still took a moment to sink in.
The below picture doesn't quite match up but you get the idea.
 
Second is my breastplate before cleaning.
When I dug this, I had dug three mason jar lids right next to it. Lots of trash but glad I took the time!
 
Here it is cleaned up a bit. Some bored soldier decided to stab this eagle to death... <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":("> Bummer, but still an amesome find!
When I dug it, I didn't do any chicken dance... I was totaly stunned, just stood there staring with my heart zooming.

Glad to see a plate come out of that spot <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin"> I think I got more of a rush, knowing that my research payed off <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">

I guess that rainbow we saw that morning brought someone some luck. <img src="/metal/html/sad.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":sad"> . J/K I know you worked hard for those. That ground was so trashy it made for some tuff hunting. Its about time all your hard work paid off!
