Woods hunt - silver in the hole !! IS IT.....IS IT....?

Ever had the experience, being in the woods at an old location, getting that great type of signal and then seeing silver in the hole? Is it capped !?
Is it seated !? AW, COME ON !!!! It's only a Merc !!! LOL!
Don't get me wrong, any other time I'd be tickled with a silver Rosie or a Merc - but out in the middle of no where? Anyway, it was a rush.
I was out in the sticks near a large, town-owned park area. I noticed an opening in a stone wall and what appeared to be an overgrown trail leading into the woods. I did a recon into the area and eventually saw signs of humanity. I started to turn up wheaties and then noticed an old well nearby. Close to the well I got that sweet, silver signal and turned the plug - SILVER !! Took out the camera for a shot then picked up the coin. A MERC 1943 !! Oh well, I was hoping for a capped but I'll take it. I knew finding wheaties should have been evidence but one can always hope, right?
Also found a nice old key.
Thanks for sharing. Bruce

I'd be happy with that Merc and key................nice hunt...........it is exciting to find silver!.....................................................John

Bruce....nice hunt, bud. I hope a bust dime makes its way under your coil soon
You just never know in the woods. Nice silver find regardless

I have been there too Bruce:detecting:. Oh well you found silver and a sweet old key as well. Nice hunt.

good find. At least it wasn't a clad dime. That happened to me - a great quarter signal out in woods in the middle of nowhere (not on a trail) which was a clad quarter.
