Woods hunt lobo

Nice looking Indian Head penny! That looks like a very good spot to detect. What were your settings?

tabman

two nice finds for shure, and the stone is it a rock that set off the detector?

Nice, I have used my Sand Shark in the woods. Tesoros are very versatile.

I run my gain 8-9 disc.at 3 the coal was to indicate where a railroad once went through along with a raised bed and part a of and old bridge as can be seen in the pic,,,,,CEDAR

Nice pair of garter snakes.
Is the rock a piece of basalt from the trains track bed ?

you have the right shovel too ,just bought a german shovel like the g.i. series they are hard to find.found some wwll and nam series but the want lots of $$$ for them.what i like about they become a pick in a minute.nothing worse then walking around with a long shovel it scares people.most of them do not like people digging holes.

I have always wondered about the Lobo for coin hunting, is it a good hunter and does it have depth on coins?

The one thing that stands out the most with this machine is it has a nice buzz on good targets one of the best for determining good targets by ear.I dug one token that was about the ten inch range about the size of a nickle. Most of the deep coins range about 8 inches on a penny which is a solid hit.Separation is good in iron the indian was only 4-5 inches deep but the ground was a chatter box then bam bam up comes the Indian. Most coins that are left are in the junk granted some are to deep, most of my best finds were 6 inches or less 1862 seated dime for example..CEDAR

sounds like a nice machine to me , boy that must have been great to find an1862 seated dime.

Damn, you are making me think about picking one of these up used just for coin detecting. Sounds like you are getting great depth. How is it on silver coins and do you hunt in all metal or disc.? From what I understand the ground balance is only set for all metal and disc. mode uses a preset ground balance. My soil is mild so that would not be an issue.
