I finally got access to an area that I have wanted to hunt for some time now. I picked up my friend Jim and we caught the city workers in a city sports complex that has four baseball fields. I asked permission to detect and the worker said that I would need to ask the team leader and pointed me in his direction. I asked the team leader and he said that he would have to call and ask his supervisor. At that point, I did not think that we would be granted permission, but the supervisor said we could detect all we wanted to as long as the workers were there but when they got through, the park would have to be locked and we would have to leave. The team leader said we would have about two hours to hunt so off we went! We hunted the area between the fields, behind the bleachers. The complex is not real old so I didn't expect silver, we did not hunt the fields themselves and I had hunted this area about 8 years ago and got 97 quarters out of the same area back then. This complex gets lots of use and I knew there would be lots of clad here. Jim and I were pretty worn out by the time the city workers finished up and had to leave. We really had to work fast because we knew that our time there would be limited and we needed to get as many targets, as fast as possible and in the process, we dug mainly quarters and some dimes and left the nickels as well as lots of dimes for a possible later trip back. It is not often we are able to have so much fun!
