Wobble in shaft?

Hey guys have small problem. My shaft has slight wobbled while I'm swinging. Its not in the upper end where it meets in housing. It's where upper and lower meet. Has anyone had this if so any ideas. I'm afraid it will get worse and wear that clip out or something to that effect. Thanks

I have the same problem. I bought an older Sunray X1 probe and the upper rod came with it. I use my Etrac with the lower shaft extended out most of the way.
What I did to solve the problem was put electrical tape on either side of the lower rod at the point where it comes out of the upper rod.
You can't see the tape and you don't need more than one layer.

Since I have two extra upper rods, I have though of putting the X-1 probe on one of them, but haven't done it yet.

Mine does that also...on the etrac I mean lol. Oh lord this is gonna sound bad! If I extend the shift out too far, it wobbles. I just retract it back in a little bit till the wobble goes away. Hard to swing tho if you are over 6' tall. I'm 5'8 so I don't have an issue shortening the shift. I laughed the whole time I wrote that LMFAO

Mine flexes also the top locking mechanism could be part of the problem & perhaps the square design? Round shafts are best ? P. s it is very easy too get the shaft in upside down? HH

make sure the shaft is in corect and not backwords the lenth adjustment should be towards you as you use the detector. i know this from myself doing it wrong good luck

are you sure your lower cam lock is OK? I was playing around with my shaft yesterday and it was nice and firm, there was no wobble at all. If theres wobble then something isnt right. Does the cam feel nice and tight when its locked down? like badjim says also maybe the lower shaft is upside down?

Your machine is just trying to be sexy...lol...On a serious side, I cannot think of anything, short of building up layers of epoxy on the lower shaft to fill the gap.

HH,
