WM 10

I hate to be one of 'those guys' who replies with no answer, but I charge mine up whenever I charge up my stock CTX battery so that it never goes out on me.

Mine also lasts as long as the detector, even when I run it down.

Like KinTN, I charge it when charging the CTX pack. I've never had it die early.
(And I'll frequently forget to turn the WM10 off while driving from spot to spot, and also while returning home. For those who do the same, It turns itself off automatically after a while...maybe 15 min or so?)

I once spent no small amount of time trying to get a definitive answer about the WM10 capacity from Minelab, both US and AUS.
The best either could come up with was; "Well, it depends."
(Not exactly as precise or 'numeric' an answer as I'd hoped.)

Thanks everyone much appreciated.

no I just got a new one and haven't used one before so was just looking at a ballpark figure so I know what to expect.

sounds like it will last for a hunt easy, and I will be the same charge it after every outing so sounds like no dramas!

thank you all for your help!

AJ

Yea itll last thru two 8 hour hunts easy.

My WM10 has lasted through four 6 hour hunts and still had some more to give, it's never died on me yet, I charge it once every other week, as with the CTX battery.

"Ah that would be typical Mike 'cos there's nobody left who can answer such a question...they laid off all the brains!" (guys who wrote most of the Knowledge Base!!!!!!!!)

My impression is that a fully-charged WM10 won't last as long as a fully-charged CTX, but I haven't done actual measurements to confirm this. I have had mine run out of juice during a hunt, even though I thought I'd charged it recently.

Having said that, part of the problem might be that I don't hunt every day (sometimes only once every couple of weeks), and I've noticed that the WM10 loses its charge when not in use much faster than the CTX does. I've therefore got in the habit of making sure it's fully charged before doing any significant hunting.

That reminds me... apparently one of the software updates for the CTX (a couple of years ago) included the addition of a low-battery indication for the WM10. I don't think this is described in the manual, so does anyone know what it looks like and where on the screen it appears? Thanks.

When I run the Koss UR30 headphones off the WM10 , there is a reduction in how long the battery lasts.

When I've run the internal speaker off the WM10, it last's longer.

I found the battery charge of the WM10 to last the longest, when I use an earpiece , earbud style of headphone, that is the type of earphones one that use the very small speakers that insert into or sit just outside the ear hole.
These type of earphones must have the least current draw on the WM10, hence the charge lasts longer.

Like some of the others who answered I always charge the headphones with the detector. My detector always runs out of charge before the headphones and I've run the detector batteries into the red zone. I use Sunray Pro headphones.
