I was off work for a 1 1/2 years. Work sure does get in the way of MD'ing!!

It's the weather here in Michigan that's giving me the shakes crap I'm laid off have all the time in the world and can't detect.Research = finds but man it sucks when the ground is frozen

Ground is diggable still here in New England, but it's been snow, snow, snow like every couple days. Some guys here will go so far as to shovel snow away to get to the ground. I must be getting old or something, 'cause I ain't going that far :)
HH,
Bill

Bill. It's kinda funny in the deep woods where there is a lot of leaves it probably is digable , 8in of leaves and a foot and a half of snow is not very encouraging, plus it's 10.8 degrees out side, But those guys shoveling may have something, i could get all the neighborhood kids together and get them to make me a detecting area Ha Ha. We normally get to detect most all winter, people in our club call me and my wife crazy for treasure hunting in the snow and cold weather but they are the same folks that can't believe the good stuff we find, It just means i get to do more ice fishing than dirt fishing this winter HH.

Salt water beaches never freeze so if you have one rather close might be worth the trip to kill cabin fever..Of course the fellows down South in most case don't have that problem. Another thought is sledding hills but dress warm...Usually shallow clad in snow and with gloves coming off and on and cold shrinking hands a ring is possible...

Hi Dan

Come on up & visit me, I'll take you to plenty of frozen salt Beach's. Can't even get a construction shovel to penetrate the frozen sand. :)

It's 17 deg. here, and yes the salt freezes. Going down to "0" tomorow. Burr, to darn cold for a old dude like me, going where it's warmer in a couple of weeks.

Bill hunted N.J. saltwater beaches for 10 years right thru winter and they were never frozen ..Perhaps this recent cold snap has lower temps or your salt content is different.
In any case have to change that to most case scenarious which should cover it for the most part...

It just goes to show that it's warmer there where you are, and were not that far away from each other. I used to get to my office in Philly in about 6 hours. It's a lot closer by water.

If you have wet sand, how does it not freeze if it's in the 20's ?

Come visit, we can hunt together in the nice white snow that's falling right now.

Many times in my lifetime here I have seen the salt water frozen over for miles outward. More than once I seen the Cost Guard ice breakers working the water here. A few times, (in my younger stuipd years), I walked out on it for a long way.

Dan, have a nice day, and stay warm

Bill

In 10 years of hunting N.J. shores was below freezing and only saw snow on the beach once..So one guesses its rather warm in Atlantic City area compared to other areas..
Here in Pa. going down close to Zero tonight so hate to see the heating bill in the future...

Ground has been frozen harder than a wedding pecker for 3 wks. here in west central IL. Had 6 inches of snow yesterday and got down to - 20 last night. Its suppose to get down to - 24 tonight without the wind chill. I am also getting withdrawals. Come on Spring
