i had my excal 2 for 2 year never did i enter the water ..am i better of with the explorer se pro ( multiple coils)??

First off you all ready have skills with the Xcal that can be used on the Sov. The Exp is more sensitive and deeper.... but you are going to have a learning curve and with its multi tones it can be a lot more chattery. What coil can you get with the Exp that you cant with the Sov?? Also, Sov can be hip mounted. The screen is very difficult to see on a beach. You wont like changing coils having to threat it thru the upper shaft either.
