Wishful thinking: Coils for Gold Bug SE/Pro and G2

Square Nail

Hi all, I have picked up the Gold Bug Pro with 5" coil. That little guy sure seems smaller than 5" though. If you could wish for another size coil for the Gold Bug SE/Pro, G2 what would you want to see?
I think a circular 7.5" (7" diameter for coil windings) DD or an eliptical 5 x 8" would be dynamite on these units. The little 5 is good on small nuggets, the 11" (don't have) should be good on coins at depth, how about something in between? :twodetecting:

It seems to be a matter of perspective. If I'm in a small trashy area the 5 inch seems fine. If I'm standing at the edge of a soccer field complex I want a coil 5 feet wide. But the 11 inch works great too. Another post seems to be starting a rumor of a 6x9 DD coil. The GBP and G2 are designed for DD coils so plan on only seeing those. I think you can try a concentric coil from the Omega and not worry about damaging anything, but the performance probably wioon't be there. I typcially have the 11 inch coil on my GBP 90% of the time.

I mean what advantage does it have? The double D will always be better at separation, have the same depth and many times more depth because of the smaller
transmitting field getting past the minerals and trash, more accurate ID because of fewer items under the coil.
The deepest part of a concentric coil's transmitting field is the size of a pinpoint whereas the deepest part of a Double D coil is as big as the shallowest part.

so we need about 5 different coils so far :fisher: i am getting used to the 11in DD its good on coins hits solid for me, i keep thinking i can find a better machine and then i come up with the same answer i already have it :crylol: gold bug pro :clapping:

Id like a smaller one say a 4 by 6 ellecitcal for gold like one for the gold bug 2. That would bee cool.:super:
Yes! Having both the original Gold Bug, and a Gold Bug Pro, that little 5" is great for finding small nuggets. If I go for using the GB Pro for something else, like coins and rings, it would be nice to have a medium size coil for the trashy parks in my area.
