Wisconsin road trip nets my first Seated coin ! .. :minelab:

Had a blast with my friends at the Three Seasons Treasure Hunting Club seeded hunt. And was able to hunt a fairgrounds that has been actively used since around 1850. My tour guide Ken has been hunting these fairgrounds for 30 years and has found many, many coins, but nothing of the Seated variety. So needless to say he was almost as shocked as I was . .

I should note that finding the Seated quarter was almost a fluke ... my Explorer was actually honed-in on the gold-plated or guilded(?) hair barrette or pin. After I pulled that from 7 inches I re-checked the hole. The Seated was another two inches further down !!! :yikes: So .. Ken & I wondered if maybe they were lost together. If I knew the age of the pin I might be able to put them together, but anyways .. DAMN ... my first Seated guys !!! YESSS !

The 1868 1 Lira is another first, and Ken wondered how the heck it ended up there .. I was happy to save it from an eternity in the dirt ! 1918 mercury ... 1899 Indian Cent and some wheats. 14K gold pendant weighs 5 grams .. Ca-Ching !!! But certainly another case of digging my arse off for a few good finds .... so worth it !

Video of all of the finds minus the wheats coming very soon !

Oh yeah .. and always recheck your holes .. :bouncy:

Awesome , congrats on your first Seated and it's a quarter !!!! That Italian coin is also rare find for sure .:clapping:

Way to go.........and some might nice finds ......... :beers:

That's an AWESOME hunt! Plenty of oldies, a cool foreign coin, and GOLD!!! Now, that right there would be spectacular, but...

YOU GOT YOUR FIRST SEATED COIN!!!!

Congrats, my friend! As you know, my first Seated was a few months ago, and it was a quarter, also...I very much remember that feeling! Can't beat it! I called my hunting partner (who was not with me that day) on the phone IMMEDIATELY, before I even washed off the coin, I was so excited! And I know how much you've been wanting that, and I know just how you feel! I felt like this was going to be YOUR weekend, after the post you made saying where you were going...

YOU DID IT!

Major congrats, Dave! You deserved that one, and that hunt!

AWESOME!

:beers: Congrats Dave :beers: Can't hardly wait for the video.

Sweet digs, glad you got that seated off your list! Congrats and thanks for sharing!

What a great bunch of finds! If no one else has mentioned it, the one lira may be a coin issued by the Vatican. It's definitely a pope on the obverse. The seated quarter is very nice also. I have found two seated quarters now, but no seated dimes yet either. Congrats.

Awesome hunt Dave!!!!! Seated quarter is great. I really enjoy finding older foreign silver. I think what you have is a coin issued by the Papal State.

Nice haul Dave and congrats on your first seated. I'll never forget my first seated. It was a 1853 dime and pretty cool as that was the year that Washington state became a territory. HH.
