The Wisconsin DNR is really cracking down on MD! it seems some folks are selling relics from the past on E Bay and posting their Copper culture and Fir trade items from Wisconsin on some forems. I contacted the local DNR office and they sighted the law in the link given here. I dont have any intrest in historical Wisconsin's artifacts just coins and modern relics. Who are the folks that are selling relics of Wisconsin on Ebay? I didn't know metal detectors could detect furs?I don't live in Wisconsin but if I paid taxes there I would remind them of that fact.The DNR should have absolute proof that it was some relic hunter and not some maggot infested tree hugging College professor selling finds from his or hers state sponsored digs. I've seen this with my own two eyes, Arks selling dug bottles out of a trunk for the $$$.If yall ever wonder why museums have such crappy displays this is why. I guess even Indiana Jones has to eat! or he needs a 60 inch TV? Actually I'm the kind of jerk that throws "relics" into the state paid for digs just to make em feel special.
