Wireless Tesoro vaquero

I really like my Xp deus wireless headphones, so i had to have something similar for my Tesoro vaquero:

These works nicely and have seen others using them. No wires to worry about and the external volume control cable will improve the sound, because it will limit the sound output of the detector.

Nice camera.

It sounds like something that I would like to give a try. Give us some details about the set up and where to purchase.

Thanks

Thanks, i took the picture using my sony xperia go.

Parts used: 3.5mm Stereo Jack To 1/4" Stereo Plug Adapter, Stereo volume control cable with mono/stereo selector switch, velcro type tape and Rapoo H3070. I dont think this site likes me to post any links to sellers.

Thanks a lot I can find the headphones and plug adapter, but I'm sure about the "stereo volume control cable with mono/stereo selector switch".

Does it have a brand name and model number?

Thanks

3.5mm Stereo Extension Cord w/ Volume Control & Mono / Stereo Switch is a better name for the part you need.

Hey Tabman, let me know if you find that control cable. I think I will try this as well. Only place around here is Radio Joke and they usually have very limited knowledge of components as they have gone to phones and toys these days.

I have not found any similar cord in the net, that offers a short cable, so you may need to do some soldering. I think a regular volume control cable will also work, but the one with a Stereo/mono switch may offer better compatibility for most detectors around.

Yeah everything that I Google has the long cord. I remember seeing one a while back that had a short cable. I may even have one that I bought from Radio Shack.

Finder- How is the sound quality with the external volume control? I bought the Rapoos to use with my Omega but the sound is totally distorted.......sort of like the input is too much.
I was spoiled by those wireless Deus headphones also.

It continues to puzzle me that none of the detector headphones makers haven't jumped over to wireless. I mean, a good, generic set of cans rated for use with metal detectors with solid wireless would command good money and sell.

I just jumped on a used Deus last Saturday and understand the headphone envy issue :) Still love my Golden and I just want to be able to set her down without a cable pulling her over on her side.

Hi Finder82,

Following your post with this wireless set I've bought the same, but found the sound very muffled compared to the normal headphone. Didn't you experience that or could that be because of volume overload on the transmitter?

Thanks
Jacco

It's better with external volume control. Adjusting the external volume control got rid of the annoying clipping sound, that i had with the headphones. Of course these headphones sound are not that good, when they are compared to a quality wired headphones.

First adjust the external volume control to get rid of the clipping sound and then adjust the headphones volume till they are loud enough. They are somewhat muffled compared to the normal headphones.

As i have yet to detect with my wireless system, so i ask have any of you guys detected with the Wireless phones yet and how well do they work in a actual hunting situation?

I've tried it in the field and it has no lag, so that's OK, but I found the sound to be too muffled.

I tried the volume control on my Omega but still getting too much distortion. Same thing with my CZ. They do sound fine on my Deus, however........the one machine that I DON'T need them for. The sound is just a bit muffled though, as jacco stated, but not too bad.
