I got in a pair today. They have two FM stations to receive the signal from, and they work well, but do not have near the volume I get from wired units on my CZ or C$-[other detectors may be louder]. An alternative I'm going to try is a RF FM Stereo transmitter from Amazon.com which does broadcast a much louder signal, and is also digital and in steps, and use it with these headphones. This transmitter will give me the entire FM Band to choose from.
The Takashi unit I got from Heartland America sold for $19.95. But they are not always in stock, so you may need to check back on a regular basis. Another big plus besides not being connected to your detector by the headphone cable is that THE TRANSMITTED HEADPHONE SIGNAL DID NOT CAUSE ANY INTERFERENCE WITH MY DETECTORS.

This is my setup that I have been using for a number of years, works extremely well with my Whites and with my old CZ-6a.

It consists of a SoundFeeder SF121 and any portable FM radio as long as the radio has a

The Transmitter (SF121) is an analog tuner. It exhibits NO DRIFT regardless of outside temperature it is used in.

The FM receiver is also analog, I use a different one today (it's smaller) and neither the old one or the new one exhibited any drift problems.

I often wonder why someone hasn't simply modified a Bluetooth wireless system with a small headset and 1/4 headphone plug-in Xmitter.

COST!

An FM transmiter/receiver setup costs only $30.00.

They're also large and gawdy looking. What I had more in mind was something that could also easily be built right into most modern control housings without all the clutter......make it an actual part of the detector design.

I'm sure something similar is coming sooner than later.

The FM receiver radio can be match box size and the SoundFeeder 121 measures 3" x 1 3/4" x 5/8" and weights 4 oz with batteries... not my idea of large and gawdy looking.
