Wireless headphones

Is there any wireless headphones that are compatable with the Quattro..?? It sure would be nice to get rid of those wires...Enjoy the forum, and all the good infor you guys (and gals) post Bud

If I'm not mistaken, BLUE TOOTH 'phones will work. I have a pair for my XT70. I got mine from Kellyco.

I've been wondering about that myself budsmith, for quite a while now. I'm not sure if power lines or things like that would mess up a wireless headphone signal or not, but I guess bubber has a pair with his xt70 that seem to work. I'm sick of those wires too!:O:(:|.

I've only had a chance to try them in the house, as there's too much snow. But they seemed to work fine.

That's hopeful news, bubber. Let us know how they work once you get outdoors with them. You know, that might be a great way to go, if they don't have too many problems with outside electrical interference or stray broadcasting stuff. Let us know how it goes, I'm anxious to know, and thanks. Marc.

Gidday Bud. I've never tried wireless headphones so I wouldn't know how they go. I just bought a new pair of Koss TD 85 headphones to replace my old Koss UR 30. Since then I've managed to get the old pair fixed, but they have a tendency to slip down over the ears which can be annoying, whereas the new pair are tighter and stay in place. Interestingly, I've noticed just a slight difference in better clarity in higher pitched tones with the new pair in comparison with the old. Just for interest's sake. But I'd also be interested in how well wireless headphones do pick up signals, or can they miss them?

RADIO-SHACK WIRELESS HEADPHONES.
I have been using the Radio Shack # 33-1253 wireless headphones for about a year now and have had no problems with electronic interference or power lines. they are extremely lightweight, are the behind the neck type, have rechargeable batteries in both the headset and the transmitter, and comes with it's own AC charger. The case of the transmitter is small enough to put on the side of the arm cuff of the Quattro using self-stick velcro. The price is $59.95, but the quality is good, and the freedom of wired headphones is well worth it.

Stevba , thanks for info on that..do you think they are as good as the koss phones??Have you used them in all types of hunting( around energy fields) and how are they on outside noise filtering??Im wondering why we havent heard more about these and how many people are actually using them...Bud

I've tried the Blue Tooth out in a old hop field a couple times for an hour or 2. They seemed to work fine, no lag time, seemed to have more volume adjustment than my Grey Ghosts. Didn't find anything to speak of, below about 3 in. ground was frozen hard. Got mostly junk readings. But all readings were clear and crisp. Hope this helps a litte, I know it doesn't tell much.

Used Blue tooth headphones for a while, loved the freedom, but battery usage sucked....They used up batteries like no bodies business..Always carry extras, 2 for the headphone and 2 for the transmitter..Also noticed if I changed arms, there was intermittent interruption which I suspect was due to body mass (which has always been an issue with me)..Went back to wired Koss

Hi, I am new here but I must say I love this forum it's very informative. I have been detecting for about eight years now using my trusty whites qxt pro and a fisher 1265x as back up. I just bought a minelab quattro and so far I really like it. I also have had some disapointment regarding the headphone wires. This is what I now use and have ran this system on all three detectors with no problems. First is A belkin fm transmitter uses two AAA batteries and second is a set of work tunes am/fm headphones uses two AA , just set the desired station on the transmitter and likewise on the headphones and whala wireless stereo. The only drawback I can see would be the transmitter, I don't get any reception from an actual radio station where I'm at so it works fine. Hope This Is useful. Happy Hunting.
