Wireless Headphones

My wife and I both have Explorer II detectors and we recently purchased wireless headsets from Radio Shack. No matter what connector we used there was always static or they would quit transmitting. The problem lies in that the Minelab is a quarter inch and the wireless unit is one eighth inch connection.

The problem lies with connecting these units with an adapter, it causes static. Is anyone out there using wireless headsets with their Explorer II with good results? Boony, you had posted sometime ago that you were purchasing a wireless unit. Did you get them...and how do you like them?

Buy you a short pig tail and a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter to plug into your machine. You have to velcro it to your machine so you dont have any movement in the transmitter part. :D: :D: Mine are the Radio shack kind also and mine work great. The swivial on the transmitter can't be moving around. I think they work great you just got to get the pig tails. 6" long ones work great. .Later Jerry aka Tinfoil

Heres what I did....go to Overstock.com and put in the search box...wireless, transmitter....you should get a pic of a CTA Audio FM Transmitter.... they sell for use with a IPOD...has settable radio stations...$14.95...I also got a Sony didgital walkman kinda radio...model #SRF-M37V... and a set of behind the neck headphones made by Phillips....model# SH3910...and you will need that 1/8 to 1/4 adapter....this combo works great for me on my Tesoro Cortes, it's a dream in the woods. I hold the transmitter to the detector with Velcro. I think going didgital takes all the static out of the signal. Let me know if this works for you, I rearly wear my wired headphones now.
