Wireless headphones:biggrin:

Someone, sorry, I've forgotten who, released info about wireless headphones. I found them for sale at various prices and bought some. Inter "logitech freepulse wireless headphones" in the magic box on E-bay should get you there. The sender is very small and should plug right into your detector's phone plug. There you are................and thanks to the cool dude that released the info. :please:

They are Bluetooth, and therefore USELESS for metal detecting...there is a lag between the transmitter and receiver and your swing speed...where you hear the beep is NOT where the center of the target is...I suggest using wireless technology such is used with guitars for stage performances...There are other RF wireless sets available also...

HH,

Well..........mine came today. they're on the charger now. Tomarrow I'll giv'em a trial and report back.
They're so cool, I just hope the gopher's wrong on this one.

And "hear" it is...! Hooked up Logitechs to my Big Bud Pro Select 220D and tossed a penny (a real copper penny) on the lawn and started to make passes over it.........:detecting: And friend Gopher is right, there is a delay. Maybe a 1/10 second delay. It might bother some folks! But when I detect I'm usually scanning fairly fast in moving discriminate, so I really don't care if the alert is not directly under the loop (although your brain can interpolate and you could correctly know "close enough" where the target is), however, normally when I hit a target I immediately switch to "all metals" and zero the target.
So, I consider these babies a winner, and a welcome addition to my metal detecting tools array. So much so that I'm going to change out the 1/4 in headphone jack to an 1/8 jack to eliminate the adaptor, which will move the Logitech transmitter a little closer to the detector body. You know one of those "if your smart, you'll watch your back" thingies. No more caught headphones, entangled in brush, while I'm negotiating a steep, twisted trail. I definitely recommend these, although if you go out on long, all day, metal detecting, trips I'd seriously include a small Dc to Ac inverter. The Logitechs are only rated for about 6 hrs usage (ah-hah back to the short usable times for rechargeable batteries) . So you could plug one into your cig lighter (finally a use?) and recharge while your eating your Baloney sandwich, and chug-a-lugging a couple of Jolts! See you out at the cemetery :clapping:

Addendem: If you buy some.....be aware you have to hold down tiny button switch for several seconds on both pieces before you get a red light. Both red lights will turn blue when they connect.

Yeah...the delay IS small, and your brain CAN compensate...I just like precision...I was going to get a set of Motorola H820s and the adapter for the 1/4" jack for the transmitter, but decided i will wait...Now that White's has the Vision out with it's wireless technology, I am hoping more manufacturers will start using it...

HH,

Right on Gopher, and when someone comes out with a set with no delay, I'll probably upgrade, but for now, that delay, is more acceptable than constantly getting them ripped of my head in the brush. And, a lot of my early detecting was done with a Compass Judge 2. When used on "auto mode" I believe there was some delay with it. Anyway, much credit to the cool dude who first put the info here on "Finds"
73, Ron.

You know, except for maybe a little depth loss, and maybe with some easy mods, and heavy (12batts)
that old Judge 2 was one hell of a detector.
