Wireless audio problem after firmware update. Am I alone?

I have very little time with the CTX but what I found today is that when low tone audio is produced by the detector and transmitted to the wireless module and then to my Detectorpro Uniprobe headphones the low tone audio will very briefly output to both the wireless module speaker and the headphones at the same time usually with a quick click sound. I tried holding it closer to the CTX, resetting the wireless, unplugging and replugging the plugs in, and finally I reset the detector but I ran out of time and so I didn't get a chance to test the system reset. During my maiden voyage with the machine yesterday everything worked fine so I am confused why it happened today. What I should mention is that last night I installed the firmware update and lo and behold this happened today. Was it chance or is something else going on?
Both the detector and module batteries were fully charged so I am not sure what is going on. I guess I could try a new headphone battery too.

Does anyone know if a system reset will rollback firmware update? Probably not is my guess.

The volume while using the remote went lower on mine also. What I did was recharge the remote even though I had not used it but a few hours. When I first charged the remote it only took about an hour. The second charge took around two hours and I have not had any more problems. This may not help you but I hope so. HH :minelab:

Thanks Hershey. This started today after the remote WM10 module had been charging overnight. It is a very strange thing.... I will be swinging the coil hearing everything just fine and then for a half second or less during a low iron tone it will output sound both from the WM10 speaker and the headphones and then go back to normal. Over high tone objects I haven't been able to make it break...

try changing the channel on the wireless connection. Let us know if that helps. HH Randy

Will do so Sir and report back.

a friend of mine also did the firmware update and is still getting the error messege and shutdowns. it happened twice today, does anyone have any other ideas of what else could be causing this i looked at it for him and tried everything and im stumped. CladKing

Do you know for sure that he had a successful update....... message at the end of the process?

Maybe have him try the alkaline pack to see if it helps, since the patch addressed an issue with communication ot the battery it may help, its worth a try

he didnt do everything right problem solved  the ctx is a really nice machine, very well balanced compared to the etrac i had i think i might just have to order one. Clad King

Well, my problems are pretty much solved. Late last night after I got home I reloaded my settings after doing a system reset and then went outside in the dark and found the same issue occurring with the low audio tones intermittently being output to both the Uniprobe headphone speakers and the WM10 module. I tried resetting the wireless device, and changing channels as suggested but still the same problem occurred. After that I tried the stock Koss headphones and was unable to make the same thing happen. I then replaced the battery in my Uniprobe headphones and the problem did not occur again. So, bad battery? That is what I thought but I went back and tried the old battery again the problem did not present itself again. I don't think the Uniprobe nine volt battery is involved in emitting the audio from the headphone speakers unless I have the probe itself on so I am confused why it is all working fine now. I say pretty much solved because the only other thing I hear now besides what I would expect to hear is a periodic very low volume static through the headphones. I can pretty much make this occur on demand by holding the WM10 Module the Stereo Mono adapter and the plug for the Uniprobe, twisting and it will intermittently emit a pop, crack and static sound so maybe there is still something going on but like I said the static at this point is intermittent and very low volume so I will live with it.
Thanks for the suggestions...
HH

Well... I am not as solved as I thought I was .... The original problem has came back with a vengeance...I was out detecting a park today and an interested ten year old came up to watch what I was doing.... Each time I was hitting a low tone the audio would crackle for a second and then emit from the headphone speakers and the WM10 module the kid was then all excited because he could hear what I was hearing, but he couldn't understand why I wasn't digging up whatever it was that made the detector respond....

I kept thinking of W.C Fields... "Get away from me kid you bother me" only because I was in a foul mood because of the audio issue....
