Winter time Outlaw thoughts

So having owned most tesoro machines minus there two screen models......The Outlaw has my interest ! The 3 coil package just screams "what a deal". However there does not seem much hype or like on this machine...what gives.....you get coils and rods at an amazing price.....I have heard its like the bandido platform.....and Monte talks about how the bandido rocks....I hunt mild ground around nail infested cellar holes from the 1700 and 1800's..... And need 8" of solid detecting depth ! Like most machines I don't keep them too long.. But right now I have found a good Whites I love that I will always keep. But besides my compadre that I'm modding into a water machine soon." Unless is someone can sell me a super cheap cibola !" I'm in need of another solid tesoro for my colonial spots.... Heck yea I would not mind another vaquero with the new DD coil but the Outlaw with all three coils seems interesting....has anyone here just loved there outlaw and just can't put it down !

I have owned the Bandido II umax and the Eldorado umax. Both great machines( lost one in a fire and the other was stolen) Anyways I bought the Outlaw when it first came out. Like you said with the three coils and with hope that it would be as good as the previous two I shelled out the cash. My observation with it is that it does not go as deep. The pinpoint feature can be a little tricky. Seem like it sticks sometimes. I am not saying it is a bad machine! Maybe I had to high of expectations after owning the other two. Some days it was hot and then the next time out it just seemed to be off a little. I wish they would start making the Eldorado again. I would buy a new one in a heartbeat.

Well, I just air tested mine, just bought it... And I knew from watching 53 silver's vids that it could disc out a copper penny or clad dime and still get a quarter, but mine will also disc out a copper penny or clad dime and still get a silver dime! I'm happy!

Have had mine for 3 years now. It is a huntin motha. The large coil is a favorite at the lake beaches and volley ball pits. The
small is used like the Compadre (that my grandson latched on to) just have to watch and not discriminate too high. With the 8 incher I have dug quarters 7-9 inches deep, depends on the soil type. Dimes at a solid 7 inches.

I have used this unit long enough that I don't use the pin point anymore. I have been very pleased and I'm sure you will be too.
I do own a DeLeon but they are not in the same class. If you have the Outlaw you really don't need a Vaquero, at least I don't.
Hope this helps. GL and HH

Steve,

I was hoping you would comment a little more about the differences between the Outlaw and the Deleon. You said that they "were not in the same class", so apart from the fact that the Outlaw has no TID, in what way would you say they are so different as to be in another class from each other. I am asking because I just purchased the Outlaw and was eyeing the Deleon as my next detector, just for the TID (and it being a Tesoro!).

Thanks.

I'm in sunny Ca and while I do not spend more than 1-2 hours at a time hunting. I do find my fair share of coins. Between the three cities/towns here where I live we have a local metal detecting club that has around 60 members. Many are local to this smallish community. I have been hitting the parks fairly often and almost ready to pass the $70 mark. I've been using an outlaw and the clean sweep coil. l have just passed the 1000 coin mark and am hoping to add another 200 plus coins before our meeting .So is the outlaw a good detector ? It does well by me.
Which reminds me of something Jim Straight would always say. A Detector in the closet only finds dust. Any detector can be a good detector , if you spend the time using it to learn it's language.

nothing wrong with the O it would be a better choice as it has GB, but some people don't want to mess with a GB knob and just go hunt, so what do I know but I think there would be better ID machines out there

My thoughts are... I wish it would warm up, and stay warm so that I can get out their with my new Outlaw and learn its unique qualities!

LOL I wish it would cool down so I can get out there too, but it will in due time and same for you, I like the Outlaw its done well for me.
