Winter is toooo long!

I got a Garrett Ace 350 for Christmas and have only been able to get out a few times. I live in Indiana and the winter has been brutal, as I know it has been many places. I'm dying to get out but just haven't been able too. To make up for it I've purchased a coil cover, a cover for the operating system (is that what it's even called), and today stopped by the hardware store and bought a nice leather tool belt lol to use for my finds. I'll be ready when the time comes!

The few times I did get out I only found clad. Can't wait for the first good find.

Winters of long ago are back:thumbdown:

I'm going through withdrawals! Want to get out and play in the dirt and work on the fishing boat!

This has been the coldest winter since 1987 where I live and I've had some times when the weather was good and I could get out, but something always comes up. I put my time to good use and started trying to modify my sunspot scoop. Measured and cut the hardware cloth and bought the stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers today. Hope to finish tonight when I get caught up on the computer. I planned to buy some magnets and put in my scoop, but I'm just trying to fix it where the 22 casings don't drive me crazy at the river and chains are bad to fall out the holes, also. I will order some magnets next week, but hope to try it out Saturday morning.

Couldn't agree more. I retired on January 31 and haven't been able to get out yet! Too wet, or too cold, or too windy, or ground too hard. C'mon Spring!

And I moved south VIRGINIA so I could do more detecting. HA HA SNOW SNOW AND MORE SNOW TEMPS IN THE TEENS ALL WEEK

yep live in southwest Ohio and all it does is snow. Got a garrett 350 for Christmas and haven't had a chance to use it yet.

You say that today and then in October you will say SUMMER was TOO short.

I do have to agree this has been my lowest hour count for any winter I have on record.

Get the Garrett Gals out and lets increase the global warming, at least were we are....

Any one for moving to the equator? It is better than Cape Cod, but don't try to get a flight out...I believe something like 8000 yes eight thousand flights have been cancelled this winter due to weather.

It is a good time to hold extensive maintenance on all of your detecting get, Fix the leak in the waders, clean and grease all seals, run capacity checks on all rechargeables, check the scoops for the sign of a split, and do some research for a few new detecting opportunities. Oh yes, you can try making some of John-E... jerky

Sounds like a good plan, Waterwalker. I planned to hit the river today , but Mama is sick. Tomorrow early am is my new goal. Spring is on the way in my area because I saw the first pine tree pollen on the car.
