Winter Detecting

My buddy and I went out for some treasure detecting today in about 20 degree weather. The ground was frozen but the sun was shining and there was no wind. I found some coins; one quarter was in the middle of some elk poop. I did find a 1931 Canadian penny. My buddy managed to find a nice silver ring with a gold band. Nothing burst your metal detecting bubble like going in to have the ring appraised and the guy says 30 bucks and the 1931 penny is worthless because it
 
Hopefully it was a ring of elk poop and not a pile. :laugh: Was the quarter cold or warm? :lmfao: (Sorry. Couldn't resist.) Seriously now, I admire you guys for hunting in the cold. You both found some stuff and had a great time. Congrats on your finds!
