Winter Beach Wading

Does anyone wades the beaches or dives the lakes winter seasons? If so how are your finds for the winter season? I am in South Carolina it does get cold but usually doesnt get below freezing too often. I am thinking a good wet suit or a set of chest waders for the beaches and a wet suit for the ponds and rivers.

Just ordered a new drysuit, wading boots and PFD. Winter beach detecting is a joy. Peace and quiet, some good finds on top of that.
Can't be beat!

I've done my share of winter beach hunting in single digit weather while freezing my A_ _ off (lol)!

I like it, although you really have to be a little hardcore as a hunter to do it successfully:thumbup:

I only use my pulse machine in the winter due to my area getting sanded in pretty good. Also, there's no newer drops and the beaches have been hit hard by many before it gets too cold (for most).........so out comes my Infinium with the big mono coil and I don't miss much:garrett::clapping: It's also nice and quiet with no one to bother you, however I usually make sure to go out with a hunting buddy because at 4 or 5am it's really black out there and you can't see s- - -t or your hands in front of your face (bring an led hat light)!!!

i love winter hunting i may need a thicker wet suit this year

Where are you located in SC? I'm in Greenville and am also looking to get better prepared for water detecting in the cold....

I am in Charleston, but me and my uncle are taking the boat traveling here soon. Plan on doing some snorkeling at very least but I am hoping to do some Scuba detecting in the near future
