From the land of the Bluenose....another nice one here so with 4 hours sleep under my belt I headed out for a typical 50 coins day since I can't go too far as hunters are in the woods and the Green Machine being so fickle lately. Would be slightly annoyed to drive 60 miles and have her not work.
Hit a sports field in Dartmouth that the Bardman and I had visited earlier in the year and found that , at that time the area was too trashy and difficult to detect....maybe a small coil would have helped at that time. Well everything was going well as the ground was like mushy peas soup and when I went to dig my first plug discovered that my digging knife had gone "awol." Lord love a duck too tired for this today but found it in no time.....on the roof of the car...da!
Dug a total of 50 coins (adding 11 more at the Village green) that didn't even make a buck! Was neat digging up the wingnut, cleat, and a zillion bottle caps adding a 1996 Lietva coin, modern day bridge token (current rate is 75 cents) and a large cent that was as smooth as my elongated forehead at the VG.
Tired, unshaven, cranky with two soakers, sore knees and head hung low I called it quits after reaching reaching 61 coins and thanking the Lord for another day of being alive, great weather and blessing us all with a great hobby!
