Some people are just born to make you laugh. You can not help but like them. Your windy Bill seems to fit the bill.
It is amazing what he could have accomplished with his wit and charm but maybe nothing he could have done would made him more remembered.
Sounds like quite a guy. They world is full of people that have made their mark, as Windy Bill has done with you and many others but most are known to few. Now you have spread the word and he is known by many.
Interesting

Windy Bill in our lives, somewhere. And it doesn't matter if you know they are stretching the truth a little, because they are just to dang interesting! It's so much fun to remember the old timer's stories and to pass them on to others. Thanks for sharing this with us!

about what would they think about today's world?

Sounds like my maternal grandma's brother, Uncle Ernest. He was telling me one time about a bad spell of rain, and that it rained so much everyone was sick of it, even the fish, and that they put aspirins on their hooks to catch them. Another time he told me about this real ugly woman, ugly like a Buffalo, U.G.L.Y. He said she fell in the river and he went right in after her, because he felt so sorry for the fish, and that he was grabbing them up right and left and throwing them on the bank.

Yeah you better watch out.
