Willia, don't feel so bad about that 10K ring,,here's what happened to me at yesterday's hunt ..

This ring did not look so pretty after the final analysis :cry:
 
All Gold jewelry coming into the U.S. for sale has to be 10k now, used to be 9k. Some country's still allow jewelry to be produced below those levels. Gold karat ratings go from 1k to 24k with 1k you have 1 part gold 23 parts other metals. 24 k is pure Gold. If you tested that ring with 10k acid it would not test real if it were a lower karat. It sure looks like it has some Gold content in it. What did it look like when it came out of the water? I wouldn't throw it in the junk pile yet. HH
