Will the wall charger that comes with the Explorer be O.K. to charge the batteries of the Sovereign GT?

On my list from Minelab they show the main charger for the GT is for the NiMH pack and the one for the Explorer uses the same part number for the charger. Now for the older Sovereigns that charger is different and cant be used, but the GT and the Explorer uses the same charger.
