Will the Simplex detectors surpass the capabilities of many detectors out there on the market?

Comparing the Simplex from what I have seen on Youtube to other manufacturers has me questioning whether my other detector stock will remain hanging upon the walls of my detector room? This will be detector #31 in my collection and I have enjoyed every one of them since my first purchase of a "professional" detector back in 1987. Even back then, the cost of that detector was an astounding $300 plus dollars. My wife thought I was crazy then, and still does - LOL! Today, it is not uncommon for an individual to lay out 2 Grand for a "hobbyist" detector and this got me to thinking. My Simplex is due to arrive tomorrow and my hope is, that it will surpass the capabilities of most of the lot that hangs upon the walls. Perhaps, this small little company will cause some of the other manufacturers to lower the prices that they demand for their higher priced machines. Only time will tell. Our hunting season is about done for this year, and today, we have a winter storm moving through. Dumping sleet, ice, and snow. Our wind chill temp tomorrow morning is supposed to be around the ZERO range. Frigid to say the least. On well, Spring is already around the corner.

The answer to your question is an absolute Yes, as there are many less capable detectors on the market. As to your 31 wall hangers I guess it will surpass many if not all your detectors as an all around performer (not knowing what you have). I'm also sure there are many detectors on the market that will surpass the Simplex+ (but probably not for the money)

Do you own a simplex? I do,and I can assure you it’s not a beginner detector and it’s more than capable of putting machines that cost $600 to shame on performance, build, and features...non challenging targets? Lol..
I have no clue why your posting a video on a $899 machine be a $250 machine? That’s apples to oranges, not fair..He said in the beginning of the video gb was at 90 on the simplex, that’s default so he didn’t even ground balance it..Didn’t need to watch it past that.

In my opinion the Simplex is a high performance machine for people like me who don't like to have to make too many confusing adjustments in order to feel like I'm getting the most out of my machine and I'm no rookie, been detecting about 15 years or so now. Some like all the bells and whistles but they are Not necessary to make excellent finds and get excellent depth. Ask anyone who swears by a Tesoro.

Bulletman, lets just say a bunch of your 31 detectors have just lost another chunk of resale value! I just received my simplex today, and have been running some air tests. Repeatable audio...… 17" on a silver half, 14" on a quarter, 13" on a dime.
Yes soil results are always lower, but...……….this thing has potential.

No, i don't own one but i have tried a few tests on my friends unit. It's quite simple, nok/mak said it should be compared with detectors costing 2 or 3 times the price, and now folks have been, and while it has some depth it lacks in other areas, such as the video i posted where it misses the surface gold ring beside a nail, now you don't need to GB to do a simple surface test.
You say it it's 'apples and oranges' to compare it to a $899 machine, then say it put a $600 machine to shame lol
Yes it's a good solid easy use beginner's machine with fixed iron tone break, fixed recovery speed, simple tone choice etc and will find coins in producing ground.

I kinda figured you didn’t own one,and probably will never own one..So,why are you posting uneducated guesses here and not on the equinox forum? I mean people usually go to site specific places to gather info, and I’m thinking your here to promote Minelab over Nokta? If I were a mod I’d remove all your posts for that reason.

I watched that ridiculous test, it was in a Minelab sponsored test garden. The guy watching the gentleman doing the test started trash talking the Simplex before he even started. Even if it was the real deal a smaller coil will solve that. I have watched several videos that show that the Simplex is an excellent machine. I'm not going to base my opinion on one cheesy video. I agree that this forum should be to discuss the Simplex, share info and opinions in a friendly manner.

That's not the video I'm talking about in this thread, it's this one by an American who bought it for his son.

I received my Simplex Thursday, I ordered it because of the videos I had seen showing how deep it was. I do think the Simplex is worth almost double what it costs. I really liked the build.
What I missed in those videos from UK is that yes it will detect as deep as the Equinox but with no ID on the deeper coins.
That was my experience anyway. In my test garden it would detect 10 to 12 inch coins but with no VDI and the audio was weak . On shallower targets the ID was good and the audio would blow your ears off. That was my experience in my soil.
I sold mine to a friend.

I own the Nokta Makro Simplex, it will stand up and do just as well as my expensive detectors. For $254.00 the Simplex can out perform a machine I paid $1599.00 dollars in depth and recovery time. I won't say what company it is but it uses 3 freq. There is a $900.00 Detector that is very close to the same performance but that almost 4 times the price of the Simplex.

Funniest thing I've read this week :lol::lol:
