That's the only thing I'm concerned about. If not then I can wait til my warranty runs out. For someone who isn't concerned about tone I'd, for me there's no real advantage. If its deeper with a better refresh, ect then yeah..

We will have to wait until some get out there, but I don't think the depth is affected on the new unit.......just new features.

Even if it was, I'm too comfortable with my mxt. If I ever do decide on a new machine it will be the V3i..

Yes, if you use the MXT Pro and 12" coil against the MXT with the 9.50 coil,, but I have not found a place to use the 9.50 coil, let alone a 12" coil.
But if both had a 5.3 coils, I think the answer would be no.
The MXT Pro has the Tone ID like the M-6 and the back light and the ground grab gb.
Beach hunters might like the tone id and back light.
For me, I like tone id and the hot summer days, hunting in less light, the tone id and back light maybe the ticket.

It just depends on what a person likes....

For me, I like the V and the MXT Pro, they share the same coils..

That photo with the backlight just gave me visions of countless hours of crowd and question free hunting solitude. Now if I can just condition myself to sleep during the day.....

I'm glad that White's has listened and made improvements to one of their most successful detectors.

But I'm also happy that I don't have to rush out and upgrade my current MXT in order to keep up to the new one. All the improvements are "cosmetic - nice to have features", but the engine under the hood is the same, so my trusty MXT has the same performance and hasn't become obsolete. I currently hunt almost exclusively in 2-tone relic mode already, and use a headlamp to hunt at night, which I'd need anyways in order to see when I'm digging.

Good job, White's
