Will the Minelab BBS Coils work on the Sovereign GT ?

Will the Minelab BBS 800 & 1000 Coils work on the Sovereign GT ?

My understanding is that the electronics on the coil end are the same. The GT comes with the Tornado coil which is a bit less thick I believe than the 1000 or 800 coil. They are both BBS machines, same technology and are compatable.

George, all the BBS coils will work on the GT including both of the Coinsearch coils and the Sea search coil.The 1000 BBS coil is heavy and isn't as stable or deep as the 10 inch Tornado.Most of the BBS 800 coils I have used are close in performance to the 800 Tornado.The smaller 800 BBS weight is more than the smaller Slimline 7 1/4 coil Tornado but isn't an issue.Between the 1000 BBS and 800BBS go with the smaller coil.IMHO if your budget will allow stay with the Slimline Tornado coils.
