Will Research Pay Off This Weekend?

The weekend weather here in southern Louisiiana is going to be magnificent the next ten or so days, lows in the low 60's and highs in the high 70's.....great arm swinging weather. I've been doing some research and I hope it pays off. The middle school that my son goes to...which I have never hunter, nor have seen anyone hunt there either, was the old high school. I have found out this week that it was built in 1914..... I assume there is silver laid on these grounds...there's also got to be rings and other jewlery. How old can one expect coins to be at something that goes back to 1914......at least the date of the building? Also, this is virgin soil, the place has never had loads of dirt brought in, only when it was first built. I can't wait. There is another old school in the same little town that is now a daycare center......it was built at the turn of the century(1900) and the playground area has never changed....so I think I'm going to leave the parks alone for a while and sart hunting these two ares for the next few ummmm years, lol. How does one find MD'ing clubs in his area? These two places would be great for a group of buddies to hit.......

Good luck. Sounds like great spot. Let us know how it goes.

when i first read your post i was ooo crap...fill!
lots these place have been tiled and such...good luck sounds like u got a nice location !
i got one site here that some claimed had a odd dude buried a jar of coins??? say the least its a river bank and i have found alot of older junk...this intel was due to our cities historical branch ...so ya its research and then search
again good luck.....always better to work smarter then work harder :twodetecting:

The age of dropped coins can far pre=date the age of any building in the vicinity.
Some student may have had an old coin that got lost on the very first day the school was opened.
Keep in mind that there wasn't much money to be had in the early 1900's.
You will definitely need to show some pics and keep us updated.
It is a shame that school has just started and you must wait for so long till summer vacation rolls around again.
Be sure to hit any stretch where the parents drop the kids off in the morning. That is my prime coin-drop site.

Research always pays off but don't be disappointed if you don't make a killing. People had little or no money to lose in those early days and detectors have been around since about 1931 so it's a cinch that place has been hit in the past 75 years or so. Good luck.
