Will Fisher/First Texas Develop a Waterproof F -75???

Fellow Diggers-

I have been using my F-75 since 2008, and bar none, this is my favorite machine of the previous ones (CZ6a, ID-Edge and Coinstirke), that I have owned. My only complaint (if there is one), is that I wish the unit was waterproof, not splash proof but waterproof like the CZ-21. Is there anyone knowledgeable that has the "inside" scoop, as to whether this is a remote possibility of becoming reality? Thanks

Best-

I may be wrong................but to make that machine 100% waterproof would add considerable cost to production, so it probably will not happen. Thats not to say that in the future that the Cz21 wont replaced by an offering more like the current F series machines.....(in some shape or form) as it would be cheaper to produce than their current offering. (probably much hotter too). Probably wont see an F75 or LTD in a waterproof configuration..........................but you may see a newer water machine from FT with f75 like abilities!

First they would need to make an F-75 that would work in the salt water environment as good the CZ-21 and hopefully better.
Have you ever used your F75 over wet saltwater sand?

Hi Willee-

Thanks for your prompt reply. No I have never used my F-75 on the beach at all. From the forums I understand the F-75 is a bit fickle with regards to black sand. I may end up purchasing the CZ-21 later in the spring for creeks, maybe beach, etc.

That would be my dream F-75 detector if First Texas/Fisher ever get a protype to production without having you mortgage off the farm for that machine.....That has the best features of the F-75 series with the waterproof capabilities of the CZ-21....

If they do.lets hope they do not copy Garretts AT Pro design... The coils are hard to connect so I am Told

If First Texas could build a $600 F75 that is waterproof like the AT Pro...I think most could live with the tight connector configuration.

If they do soon (like this year), I would forgo buying the CZ-21, which I will probably get later in the spring. I always wanted a good waterproof unit. So now if Fisher/First Texas can only keep all the great features of the F-75, with the water impervious qualities of the CZ-21, or is this too big of a wish list. After the all, the big fat guy in the red suit already made his rounds just last month......

Yes ... they are in an area that it tight and hard to get your fingers in.
But luckily most people do not change coils very often.
Waterproof connectors are a problem.
(just ask Tesoro ... they shut down the production of water machines because of the connector).
To seal properly and do their job they require a bit more attention and some knowledge on the part of the user.
I Guess Garrett could have done what Fisher and White's do ...
forget the connector (less cost) and make it hard wired and non-interchangeable (less repair problems).

I've used my f75/F75 LTD a LOT over the wet salt sand, and it works just fine thank you. In fact, it easily equals the Cz for depth,. and trumps it for low conductor sensitivity! I've have never been thrilled at the CZ20 or 21's lackluster response to very small gold at the shore, and I have been using it for close to 20 years now there. I had mine upgraded to the 21 a year or so ago...and it wasnt any better. Ended up selling it due to a couple of things. first...........the F75 is a far superior dry sand machine as far as micro jewelery, and in the wet, my Infinium is lightyears better than the CZ ever was. I'd love to see a waterproof Fisher with the F75s sensitivity to lower conductors.
I found the trick to using the F75 at a wet salt beach area is pretty simple really. Either run in motion All metal (VERY effective), or simply GB out the salt in Disc mode. I find mine (the F75 that is), doent false any more than the Cz20 did.and if anything...doesnt false as much!
