Will be swinging a White's

Been along time since I have used a White's detector, I just got a nice Classic ID with the 950 and the 600 Blue Max coils. I have been know to wheel & deal but am going t give the Classic ID a good workout as soon as it warms up enough. I did take it out in my yard to play around with, I was surprised how accurate the TID was, it correctly displayed each coin at the detectors depth limit. Steve.

That could very well be your favorite detector of all time Steve, especially if you get Bill's mod done to it.

Thanks Larry. I don't believe it had Mr. Bills mods. done on it as it doesn't have a dial to adjust the threshold but it does have a dial to adjust the ground balance. I figured the adjustable g.b. is a good feature and a person doesn't have to play with the threshold much once it is set anyways.

Way to go Steve, the Classic ID is great:thumbup:

I found one for a friend of mine awhile back, when I got it , I checked it out for him. The threshold was set at the right level by checking through the headphones, then I did a little ground balance check, it was set slightly positive. Perfect ground balance from right out of the box, then I checked my old coin garden with it and it performed as well as my modified IDX Pro. So, my friend got a Classic ID that was as hot as my own more expensive moded IDX Pro. Gotta Love it !

The Whites Classics are really nice and smooth running. My IDX Pro is the deepest detector that I have for silver coins and it has not had any mod done to it.

Suppose to be around 50 degrees tomorrow, hopefully it won't rain as I want to take it out and give it a try. Haven't got it yet but traded my Blue Max 950 coil for a ProScan 800 coil. Have the Blue Max 600 on it now & will most likely use it the most. Will let you know how it does if I get a chance to try it out. Steve.

Took it out for a test run using the Blue Max 600 coil, worked very well. I could crank the sensitivity to max and it was very stable. didn't have a ruler with me but in my estimate one of the coins (penny) I dug was a good 6" deep or better. A older model White's came up for sale (Liberty Di) that I have been wanting to try so I had to put my Classic ID up for sale.

I'm pretty new to MDing but I've heard good things about the Classic ID. What years were they made and what kind of price range does used ones typically run? I'm not trying to buy or sell but curious about the current price range if that's ok. Thanks!
