will be going to see my son graduate from basic in Fort Knox from Tank school would love to get in a morning of detecting for Civil War relics if anyone can drag me along I would sure appreciate it.

Phinbolt, I am from the Bardstown, KY area. When are you going to be in the area? I haven't researched the area enough to know about all the Civil War activity. Perryville is close to Fort Knox, little more than an hour. The Perryville battle was by far the largest battle in KY. Problem is it is a Park now and you know what that means.

They instituted a city ordinance in Louisville, KY where I live now that prevents metal detecting. I don't know about E-town, or Radcliff. I'll try to find out. Of course any of the designated battlefieds are a definite no, but I'm sure you know that. Best idea is to find private land bordering some of those areas. But I don't know anyone personally to ask. I'll keep trying.
