Conducted a lot of research on location and position of forces during the Battle of Valverde in New Mexico. It was one of only 2 large scale battles fought in the state with the Confederates beating back the Union. This is a large area and hopefully will produce some good finds. Afterward I plan to follow the Apache Chiefs "Nana" trail into the San Mateo mountains to a couple of sites of his battles. However if I find anything I will have to photo and leave as the area is within the U.S. Forest Service's Cibola National Forest. Hopefully I will have some success and be able to post photos.
