Will a bigger coil help compensate in mineralized soil?

Hello,

I just bougtht a Tejon and have yet to use it. I was wondering if the 10x12 coil would help prevent too much depth loss in mineralized soil on Shadow X2 (made by Tesoro). I already have the 7 and 9 inch coils. I'm going to let my girlfriend use the X2. Thanks for any advice. HH.

basically, no. A larger footprint will tend to "see" more ground and therefore more mineralization. DD coils sometimes help but in my opinion only slightly.

They do make a 12 x 10 that will fit the X2, but its concentric not double D. Double D coils will help with depth in mineralized soil.
