Will a BBS 1000 coil work on the Excalibur?

The old blue housing Excal I series came with BBS series coils, so I'm not sure what the issue is there. If there is any doubt, Minelab will probably install the coil and performance check it, since it is a factory replacement coil. Labor will probably be around $75, I would guess.

I'm trying to put this on the old NY style detector with the red headphones and the horse shoe coil.

should work but maybe the colour coding for the wires is different, there was a post a while ago by max i think relating to this

this might help, near the bottom is mentions that with the seasearch coil the red and black are reversed, could be your problem if you folowed the colour to colour, could be why its not working

I have tried every combination that Coiltek suggests and I still can't get the coil to work. The transmit coil reads 2.2 ohms and the receive coil reads 2330 ohms so it should work........but it doesn't. Wish I had a Sovereign to try this coil out on.

I went thru a similar situation with an original sov xs. it turned out the white wire was not even used in the cable and colored wire codes were different for that year or model.sam in ms

maybe someone in your area might be able to help that has a sovereign, i'm a bit far, If the seasearch doesn't work and the BBS1000 either, things aren't looking good
