:wiggle:18K Mens ring and yes still earrings

Today I literally struck gold for the first time in a while.
There is story behind this ring and will make it brief as possible. Yesterday at the end of 6 plus hours of water hunting a gentleman came out and said he lost his ring in the water and showed me two points of reference on the shore to go by. I was dead tired and could not go mentally or physically but tried for 30-40 minutes. I advised the man to give the lifeguard his name and number and I would come back tomorrow and look hard. Well second target today was his ring as he had told me it was 18K mens wedding white gold. Went to the lifeguard station and they asked and no one had left any name or number to get in touch with should ring be found. The radio's all stations and no one had anyone come up yesterday and give them information for contacting. Yesterday he was willing to offer $300.00 for the ring and today no way to get it to him. I advsied lifeguard I would be back to check if he should come by. Worst case scenerio is I have a mens wedding band.
This leads to my next question went by jeweler to pick up my wifes ring and there was a gold buying place next door. I have and had no thoughts of selling just wanted to weigh the thing. They said it 6.5 pennywaight and 10.1 grams. I do not know enough to know if this is a heavy ring or not. It is very weighty and thick. ANyone no what this means? By the way they said they would pay $165.00 for the ring. I laughed and left.
I was thankfull to find even though I thought it would go back to the owner.
Everyone keep looking the next dig could be the one you have been looking for.
Hope you enjoy

10.1 gm is a fair chunk of ring. Some people just dont accept others at their word. At least you have tried to return it to the owner. It's not your fault that he couldn't be bothered.

Glad you did not sell to the crooks. Here is what the ring is REALLY worth here, check this out.
Just plug in the #'s and see for yourself.

I was not going to sell anyway but WOW were they trying to steal the stuff. I appreciate and will keep them in mind if I ever get ready to sell. I was just wondering if the ring weight was a good one or on the light side. I have only been doing this for six months and keep everything. I will eventually sell some I am sure but not at the moment. This is by far the heaviest ring I have found but did not know how it ranked as far as normal rings go. This is actually the first mens band I have found the was in gold.
Thanks

Keep up the good work. Dont be fooled though i had a Lady ask me if i found her ring at a local fresh water beach.
she had me going for a second unitll i saw she had her wedding ring on and she couldn't describe any of the rings in my pouch.

nice job on finding the ring.
I get people asking if i found thier ring all the time.
Don't get caught up in the question game.
If they truly lost something, they usually will discribe it and take you to the spot were
they think they lost it.
If not just say sorry and keep on detecting.
