My wife found this gold chain item. I think it is used to hold a pocket watch on a vest, but I am not sure. Part of it is missing, and my wife rechecked the area to see if she could find it but with no luck. Any ideas as to what it is,or what it would look like complete? HH Dennis in Idaho

I was reading a 1909 Sears catalog. The chain that my wife found which is pictured is a gold filled "gentlemans chain. Which was made for a pocket watch. The chain was attached to the gentlemens vest and then to the pocket watch. The chain my wife found is missing the clip that attached to the pocket watch, other than that it is complete. Good old Sears comes to the rescue. HH Dennis in Idaho
