Wife out hunted me

Irvin D Burke

New member
This happen to me many years ago , a friend and I were going to hunt on part of howlets line in chesterfield co. his wife was coming so my wife of course wanted to come . I wrote this poem to tell what happen . " Beginners Luck Blues" After a seventeen year delay my wife said to me with you I'll go relic hunting this fine March day I showed her how, I pointed where she walked ten feet and heard that sound that makes every relic hunters heart skip a beat now I must hear that sound that every relic hunter hates to to hear " honey tell them what I found" she found a complet bayonet sticking straight in the ground in a area I thought I had hunted out.

Thanks for the story.
