several of the top brand metal detector manufacturers are now and have been fitting widescan/dd coils to their latest machines and not concentric coils, which was the standard all round fitting.why?are dd coils better all round coils than the concentric's.i know that dd handle mineralisation better and concentric's discriminate better.so what gives?it's getting confusing out there!!! sometimes it seems that i shouldn't read these forums, too much confusing information, but i like to try to keep abreast of what's going on out there.bye for now, blowfly,hh

I'm sure there are some newer forum readers who don't know who some of us are, so I'll add some short background to support my experiences, thus opinions.

wow now thats some info....interesting reading...:clapping:
thanks for the info..

thank you once again monte for your in depth information.your wealth of knowledge far out exceeds mine and once again you have helped clear up the muddy waters.i have an original silver sabre with the 7"coil,which i tend to use more than my vaquero.i don't need ground balancing where i operate.the soil is just fine.but the vaquero came first,so i still use it.thanks again, bye for now, blowfly
