wide scan coil

I like the vaquero's depth but at the max depth the detection shrinks to a small area. I thinking about the 10 x 12" wide scan coil. I would like an opinion from someone that's tried one.

Unless you have highly mineralized ground. Coverage is great but depth is about the same as the 9 by 8 under normal ground conditions.

I bought my wide scan for the Tejon because- forget the name of the fella in the UK? Gary? Said this set up with low sensitivity was the only one that could see the gold coins thru his high iron test soil. All others brands could not. Besides I was wanting a new toy and it does work well, covers a lot of ground quick and scans the shallow fresh water with very little effort. Coil stays against the bottom and has almost no drag.
