Why???

Good morning everyone,

I received last week my new AT Pro after working with a VAQ for a few years and finding some interesting gold jewelry. My problem now is, maybe because of lack of experience with the AT, the detection of US clad is good, the CDN clad sound like an old rusted washer, the silver or gold ring and earring is good but I never been able to find any gold chain. I have tried an air test on the 6 mode and I don't have any signal and no reading on the screen. Am I doing something wrong? because I notice in the forum that many members are posting photos of silver or gold ring but I don't remember seeing a gold chain as a find.
Is there a special set-up so the gold chain can be detected with any thing else?

Any chain small ones are hard to ID likely come in very
low VDI foil or junk signals.
It does not detect as a whole chain but as one link only.
The only way you'd get a good signal is if a charm is
on the chain then you'll ID the charm on the chain also if the clasp is big enought.
With the AT PRO I've picked up lots of scatchy foil,bobby pins
and junk chains in the water.
If in doubt of the signal dig it it could be a gold chain.
