Why would my #'s be off when switching out to............

I use a sunrays-1 probe and a digisearch minelab meter and when swinging over a target like a quarter its # is 180 and when i use the probe it come up 195 . So is the sunray probe off/messed up. GS

That is normal just like when you switch coil as the meter is calibrated to the coil you use, being the probe is like a 1 inch coil there will be a difference more when switching to the probe than a coil change. This is why there is the adjustment on the back of the meter.
Now this don't bother anyone really as the detector and coil does the IDing and the probe is to find the target as it has been already ID. I use my probe in all metal to find the target after I have ID it, then when I get close to the target with the probe will switch over to disc to make sure this is the target I am looking for and this way I can be more careful when digging it up. I myself don't look at the meter after I have ID it.
